The 11D10N Sakura road trip around Tokyo🚙🇯🇵🌸
If you’re planning a trip to Japan this Spring to catch the sakura, I got you!
I covered a total of 6 places in 11 days, and I found that renting a car made the whole experience much more convenient for us 🌸
We flew into Tokyo and collected our car directly from the airport before heading to Yokohama. At the end of the trip we returned it to an outlet near our hotel in Tokyo, which made everything feel very seamless.
To be honest, you don’t need a car since Japan’s train system is incredibly efficient and you can easily reach these places by public transport. But because it was still quite cold during spring, having the car made things a lot more comfortable. We were constantly putting on and taking off jackets, carrying scarves and shopping bags, and it was nice to just leave everything in the car instead of hauling it around.
I also appreciated the flexibility. We could take our time, stay longer at places we liked and make small detours without worrying about catching the next train.
For me, it really came down to comfort and ease since my parents were on the trip. Let me know if you would like a clear breakdown of my itinerary!
Hope you get to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom 🌸
