Another Thursday 😖

Hey everyone! We all know that 'Another Thursday' feeling, right? Those long college days can really take it out of you. I totally get it! My own Thursday routine, which can be a whirlwind of lectures, projects, and commuting, definitely requires some strategic planning to survive. I wanted to share a few things that really help me power through, and maybe you can pick up a tip or two for your own busy schedule! First off, the commute. My Thursdays often start with a packed bus ride to my first class. It's not ideal, but I've learned to make the most of it. Instead of just dreading the squeeze, I use this time for some light reading – it could be for a class, or just finishing up a good book, which is a great way to escape for a bit. Having a good podcast or an audiobook can also turn wasted time into productive or relaxing moments. Then it's onto classes! From intense film project discussions to learning about animation like 'Kiki's Delivery Service,' my brain is often on overdrive. To stay focused, I try to schedule short breaks where I can grab a quick, nutritious bite. My go-to is usually a chicken burrito bowl with some green juice and lots of water – it's a solid 7/10 for fueling up without feeling sluggish. Staying hydrated is key, so I always have my purple water bottle handy. Midday stress can hit hard, especially with deadlines looming. That’s why incorporating mindful moments is so important for me. Sometimes it’s a quick prayer, like when I manage to squeeze in ASR during a break. Other times, it's literally a 15-minute power nap when I can find a quiet spot. Even just stepping outside for a few minutes or listening to calming music can reset your focus. I also find creative outlets incredibly refreshing. My last class often involves camera basics with my Canon, and framing shots or learning new techniques is a fantastic way to engage a different part of my brain and de-stress. And finally, the evening wind-down. After a long day of classes and responsibilities, creating a routine to unwind is crucial. For me, that often includes my Isha prayer, reflecting on the day, and preparing for whatever comes next. It’s not always perfect, and some Thursdays feel more chaotic than others, but having these small rituals and strategies makes a huge difference.
