God given Purpose
Lately, I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it truly means to have a 'God-given purpose,' especially when life throws curveballs and everything feels uncertain. It’s easy to get lost in the noise and doubt, but I’ve found that anchoring myself in this belief has been incredibly powerful for navigating uncertain times. For a long time, I felt like I was just drifting, chasing external goals without a clear internal compass. I knew I had passions, but connecting them to a deeper meaning felt elusive. It wasn’t until I consciously started to quiet the external chatter and really listen to my inner self, and to what I felt God was calling me towards, that things began to shift. It wasn't a sudden, grand revelation, but more of a gentle unfolding, a series of 'aha!' moments. One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was realizing that my purpose isn't just about achieving something monumental, but often about recognizing and utilizing my innate gifts – those natural talents, inclinations, and even struggles that make me uniquely me. For instance, I've always been a good listener and empathetic, and I used to just think of it as a personality trait. But then I started seeing how these qualities could be used to support friends through tough times, or even in my work. It made me understand that these aren't just 'my' gifts; they're gifts I've been given to share and use for good. When I was facing a particularly challenging period – a big career change that felt very risky – it was this understanding of my purpose and gifts that kept me grounded. Instead of panicking about the unknown, I asked myself: 'How can I apply my innate gifts of creativity and problem-solving to this new situation?' This reframing completely changed my perspective. It allowed me to see the uncertainty not as a threat, but as an opportunity to grow and lean into my strengths, trusting that I was exactly where I needed to be. I also learned that navigating uncertain times requires a lot of trust and patience. There will be days when you feel completely off track. During those moments, I remind myself of past challenges I’ve overcome and how each one taught me something valuable about myself and my resilience. Connecting with my faith has been a huge part of this; it provides a sense of peace and a belief that there's a bigger plan at play, even when I can't see the full picture. So, if you’re out there feeling a bit unsure about your path, I truly encourage you to start by looking inward. What are you naturally good at? What makes you feel alive? What problems do you feel compelled to solve? These are often clues to your innate gifts and your deeper purpose. And remember, finding your God-given purpose isn’t a one-time event; it’s a continuous journey of discovery, especially as you navigate the inevitable ups and downs of life. Trust the process, trust your gifts, and most importantly, trust that you are exactly where you need to be to fulfill your unique calling.
