What other teas did you use during covid

2025/1/8 Edited to

... Read moreLet's be real, going through COVID can be rough, and finding ways to ease those uncomfortable symptoms is a top priority. When I was dealing with it, I quickly realized how much comfort and relief a simple cup of tea could bring. Beyond just staying hydrated, I found that certain teas really helped soothe my throat, calm my cough, and even give my immune system a little extra boost. If you're looking for natural remedies, here are some of my go-to teas for COVID symptoms that truly made a difference in my recovery journey. One of the first teas I reached for was Traditional Medicinals Organic Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea. This one was a lifesaver for my sore throat! The packaging really highlights its ability to support throat health and immune function, and I can totally vouch for that. The echinacea felt like it was giving my immune system a gentle nudge, and the lemon was so refreshing. It's caffeine-free, which was perfect for sipping throughout the day and even before bed without worrying about disrupting my sleep. It genuinely felt like a warm hug for my irritated throat, and knowing it was organic was a nice bonus. But my tea arsenal didn't stop there! I found several other teas incredibly helpful for managing different COVID symptoms: Ginger Tea: When I felt nauseous or just had that general achy feeling, a strong cup of ginger tea was incredibly warming and helped settle my stomach. I'd often brew it with fresh ginger slices for maximum potency. It's also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which I felt helped with overall discomfort. Peppermint Tea: For those awful blocked sinuses and headaches, peppermint tea was a godsend. The menthol really helped clear my airways, making breathing a little easier. Plus, the refreshing taste was a welcome change when my taste buds felt a bit off. Chamomile Tea: Getting quality rest is crucial during recovery, and that's where chamomile came in. I'd have a cup before bed to help me relax and drift off to sleep, especially when I was feeling restless or anxious. It's so gentle and soothing. Licorice Root Tea: This was another fantastic option for my cough and sore throat. Licorice root is known for its demulcent properties, meaning it creates a soothing film over mucous membranes. Just a heads up, if you have high blood pressure, you might want to check with your doctor before diving into this one. When it comes to preparing these teas, I usually kept it simple. Hot water, a good quality tea bag or fresh ingredients, and sometimes a squeeze of lemon and a spoonful of honey. Honey is another fantastic natural throat soother, and lemon adds a burst of vitamin C. It's not just about the ingredients, but the ritual itself – taking a moment to breathe in the steam, feel the warmth, and focus on healing. Remember, while these teas for COVID can offer great symptomatic relief and support, they're not a cure. Always stay well-hydrated with water, listen to your body, and consult with your healthcare provider for any serious concerns. But for me, these warm, comforting brews were an essential part of my recovery kit, providing genuine comfort when I needed it most.
