As we are still in the midst of waiting for our house, hubs and I stay over at my in-laws place over the weekend.
This sterilizer was a freebie that we won from the TMC seminar & I was horrified to see that the base had a few points that started turning rusty. I believe this was due to abrasion of the legs of the rack & the base of the sterilizer. Water might have played a part as well as there will always be a bit of water that drips to the bottom when loading bottles/pump parts.
We’ve only used this for 2 days a week for 2.5 months so it is really quite under utilised.
And for maintenance wise, I will always do a wipe down every single week before leaving my in-laws place hence really shock to see that the sterilizer turned rusty and had a slight metal smell.
As we got this from a hospital & also seen this brand (Enve) at events like Mummy’s Market, we thought that it was usable as we just needed an extra sterilizer over at my in-laws place over the weekends.
Let me just add that this steriliser can only hold 3 bottles or 1 pump & 1 bottle per load which is a really small capacity for a sterilizer with such a big outlook :(
I would rate this a 1/10 due to the space & the quality. Disappointed! 😭

Even with minimal weekly use and regular cleaning, the interaction of water dripping inside the sterilizer’s base can cause unexpected rust and odors. This was particularly surprising with a product gifted by a hospital and sold at reputable baby events.
If you are considering buying this sterilizer or a similar model, be aware of its small capacity—only 3 bottles or 1 pump plus 1 bottle at a time—which might be inconvenient for families needing more frequent sterilization. The bronze-colored base seems prone to oxidation, likely worsened by small abrasions where the rack legs rest.
To maintain such devices, ensure complete drying after every use and frequent wipe downs to prevent moisture buildup. I also recommend checking user reviews regarding build quality and rust issues before purchase. This experience has opened my eyes to the importance of product testing over longer periods, especially for baby care items that require hygiene and safety.
Overall, while UV sterilizers promise convenience, the durability and design details like the material of the base and capacity significantly impact real-world practicality and user satisfaction. Sharing my personal story, I hope others can make informed choices when selecting baby bottle sterilizers.
