In every relationship, there comes a turning point. We find ourselves standing at the intersection of two very different paths.
This graphic, "Walking in the Light: Bringing Truth to Marriage," visualized from John 3:19-20, illustrates that profound choice.
On one side lies "The Darkness". It seems easier at first. It’s the path of hiddenness, deceit, and fear. When we are here, we are apart—burdened by the shadows of things unsaid and undone. We avoid the light, terrified that our flaws will be exposed.
But on the other side is "The Light". This path is illuminated by truth, openness, and love. It leads us into honesty, transparency, and a divine unity that shadows cannot break. In the Light, there is freedom. We are seen, and yet we are loved.
A flourishing, miraculous marriage isn’t one without struggles. It is one where two people have committed to taking every step—even the scary ones—out of the darkness and into the golden light of God’s guidance. It is where we trust that His love is greater than our fear of being exposed.
Choose to walk in the truth. Choose to bring your marriage into the Light.

"He who does truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed... done in God." — John 3:21
... Read moreReflecting on the journey of marriage, I’ve found that walking in the light—choosing truth and openness—makes all the difference in creating a strong, thriving partnership. When my spouse and I began to embrace transparency, it was initially intimidating to reveal our vulnerabilities and fears. But over time, this bravery opened a door to deeper understanding and trust between us.
The graphic referenced, inspired by John 3:19-20, perfectly captures this crossroads: the darkness of deceit, fear, and avoidance versus the light of honesty, love, and unity. In my experience, when couples choose to step into the light, they don’t erase struggles but face them together with faith and courage. This willingness to be fully known and accepted enriches the relationship and invites spiritual growth.
I recall times when hiding faults or avoiding hard conversations only drove a wedge between us. Yet, by bringing those issues into the light, we found healing and renewed connection. The fear of exposure, as noted in the scripture, is real, but God’s love provides a sanctuary where imperfections aren’t condemned but embraced.
For those on the fence about choosing honesty over concealment in marriage, I encourage you to take that first step. It might feel vulnerable, but it leads to freedom and divine unity that darkness can never offer. Remember, walking in the light is not a one-time choice but a daily commitment to love, truth, and transparency—allowing your marriage to flourish as a miraculous reflection of God's grace and guidance.
