川越の老舗うなぎ店「東屋」は、長い歴史だけでなく、その落ち着いた和の空間も魅力の一つです。私も先日訪れましたが、和室のテーブル席から見える庭の景色がとても心地よく、食事の時間がより豊かに感じられました。 予約はやはり必須で、特に週末は満席になることが多いとのこと。駐車場は数台分しかありませんが、近隣の喜多院や成田山の駐車場を利用し散策も楽しめました。 「東屋」のうな重は、タレの甘みが控えめでとても上品。ふっくらと焼き上げられたうなぎの香ばしさが際立ち、添えられた漬物や肝吸いもバランスよく食事を引き立てています。北海道出身の叔父夫婦も「こんなに美味しいうなぎは初めて」と喜んでいました。 また、白焼きも気になりましたが、次回のお楽しみに。お土産にいただいた旭川の壺屋き花も美味しく、家族みんなが笑顔になる時間を過ごせました。うなぎ好きはもちろん、ちょっと贅沢なお食事や和の雰囲気を楽しみたい方におすすめの一軒です。
