Cold turkey quitting on 4/20, a date often symbolized by various connotations, added a layer of personal significance to my decision. Starting my sobriety journey meant facing challenges like breaking old habits, managing cravings, and finding new ways to cope. Gardening, thankfully, provided a constructive outlet to stay mindful and grounded during this transition. Spiritual growth, for me, has been about more than just abstaining from substances. It's about reconnecting with myself, understanding my emotions, and cultivating patience and gratitude. The process reminds me that growth is not linear—it has ups and downs but leads to a stronger, healthier self. If you’re considering a similar path, know that you’re not alone. Embrace each day as a new opportunity for growth and healing. Incorporate practices that feed your soul, whether that’s gardening, meditation, or simply spending quiet time in nature. Celebrate small victories and stay connected to supportive communities that understand your journey.
