Back at it I may leave plumbing but always come back lol

Plumbing is one of those trades that pulls you back no matter how many times you think about leaving it. Even when the physical demands or the unpredictable nature of the work can be challenging, the sense of accomplishment always outweighs them. Over the years, I've tried stepping away to explore other career paths, but the skills and knowledge I built in plumbing continuously call me back. In this line of work, every job is different—sometimes it's fixing a leaky pipe, other times installing a new system—keeping things interesting and sharpening your expertise. Moreover, plumbing offers great stability and demand. Good plumbers are always needed, and the trade can provide excellent earning potential and opportunities for growth. The industry is evolving too, with new technologies like video pipe inspection, water-saving devices, and smart home plumbing systems adding new dimensions to the craft. What keeps many like me in the trade is the community aspect—working closely with homeowners, contractors, and fellow tradespeople. You build trust, and your work directly impacts people's comfort and safety. That personal connection and the satisfaction of a job well done are hard to find elsewhere. If you’re considering a career in plumbing or thinking about returning after a break, I’d say go for it. The blend of technical challenge, job satisfaction, and demand makes it a worthwhile craft that many find themselves drawn to again and again.
