My trip to Nice,France

Nice

... Read moreArriving at the beautiful Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (AEROPORT NICE COTE D'AZUR) always fills me with excitement – it's the perfect gateway to the French Riviera! From the moment you land, getting into the heart of Nice is surprisingly easy. I usually hop on the tram, which is super convenient and offers lovely views as you head towards the city center. It’s a great way to start soaking in the atmosphere of the Côte d'Azur without breaking the bank. If you're wondering what to do in Nice, trust me, you'll be spoiled for choice! My absolute first recommendation is to take a leisurely stroll or bike ride along the iconic Promenade des Anglais. The azure waters of the Mediterranean on one side and the grand hotels on the other create such a picturesque scene. It’s perfect for people-watching and simply enjoying the Riviera vibe. Next, you must lose yourself in the charming labyrinth of Vieux Nice, the Old Town. These narrow, winding streets are packed with colorful buildings, artisan shops, and delightful little cafés. Don't miss the Cours Saleya market, especially the famous flower market – it's a feast for the senses and one of my favorite things to see in Nice. Grabbing a fresh crêpe or some socca (a local chickpea pancake) here is an absolute must-do activity. For breathtaking panoramic views that truly capture the essence of Nice, make your way up Castle Hill (Colline du Château). It's a bit of a climb, but there's also an elevator if you prefer. The reward is incredible vistas of the city, the Promenade, the port, and the sparkling sea. There’s even a stunning waterfall and ruins to explore, making it a wonderful spot for photos. Planning a weekend in Nice, France? I always suggest dedicating at least a day to the city's wonderful museums. The Matisse Museum and the Chagall Museum offer unique insights into the artists' lives and their connections to this beautiful region. For a taste of modern Nice, wander through Place Masséna, with its distinctive red buildings and the striking Fontaine du Soleil. Beyond the main sights, simply embracing the local lifestyle is one of the best activities Nice, France offers. Enjoy long lunches at beachside restaurants, sip coffee in a bustling piazza, or explore the port area with its impressive yachts. If you're keen on exploring the history of Nice, you'll find layers of Roman, Italian, and French influences in the architecture and culture. For those interested in a quick guide to Nice, my top tip is to wear comfortable shoes, as you'll want to walk everywhere! Public transport within the city is excellent, and it’s easy to navigate even without a detailed Nice France map. Whether you're traveling to Nice for a relaxing escape or an adventurous exploration of the Côte d'Azur, this vibrant city truly has something for everyone. From the moment you arrive at the airport, your Nice itinerary will be packed with unforgettable experiences.
