How to pray
When I first started praying, I always focused on asking for blessings—whether for success, relationships, or opportunities. However, I often overlooked the essential aspects of discipline and wisdom needed to truly benefit from those blessings. Over time, I realized that praying isn't just about asking God for what we want; it's about preparing our character to handle those gifts responsibly. One powerful lesson I learned is that blessings without the right mindset or preparation can sometimes bring challenges rather than relief. For example, receiving an opportunity at work without having the patience or maturity to manage it well can lead to stress or even failure. Praying for discipline and a renewed mind helps align our thoughts and actions with God's wisdom, enabling us to maintain and grow what we're given. Additionally, being honest with ourselves during prayer is crucial. We often ask for things without acknowledging what personal growth we need to sustain them. Prayer becomes a tool not just for asking but for self-reflection and spiritual renewal. It teaches us to seek not only what we desire but also the strength and consistency to live differently—thinking differently, acting differently. I encourage everyone not to stop praying after receiving blessings. Instead, continue praying for discernment, consistency, and a transformed mind. This ongoing prayer fosters resilience and prevents us from losing what we earnestly seek. Through personal experience, I can say that this approach has brought me greater peace, clearer purpose, and a deeper connection with my faith.
