Sometimes I receive consultations from people aiming to become architects.
"Are you glad you became an architect?"
Can I continue this work?
Being an architect is never an easy job.
Responsibility for drawing drawings.
Judgment on site.
Meeting with the client.
Coordination with structure and equipment.
In order to complete one building, it is necessary to proceed with work while cooperating with many people.
The building will remain for years.
So the judgment of the architect is largely responsible.
But nonetheless I've continued this work.
Why?
That's because the work of architecture has a special charm.
What was a drawing becomes a building.
The efforts of many take shape.
When you stand in front of a completed building, you feel special no matter how many times you experience it.
I went into the field as a carpenter when I was young.
After that, I started to work in design and obtained a first-class architect qualification.
I started a design office and continued to work in architecture.
It was never a smooth sailing life.
Sometimes the company went bankrupt.
Nevertheless, I continued to work in architecture.
I think it's because I like this job.
Architecture is a job that you study for the rest of your life.
structure.
Equipment.
Construction.
The law.
The building is made up of many technologies.
When I was 60 years old, I tried a new job.
I am a facility design first-class architect.
No matter how old you are, you can learn new things.
And in that learning, there are new discoveries.
If there is a person aiming to become an architect now, there is something I want to tell you.
It's okay to take a detour.
The important thing is to continue.
In the work of architecture, there is a scenery that can only be seen by those who have continued.
People who work in the field.
A person who draws drawings.
Someone who designs equipment.
Through the skills and efforts of many people, the building is completed.
There are many stories in the world of architecture.
I want to tell that story even a little, and I am writing the "Architect's Baton" series.
It depicts the life and challenges of engineers working in the world of architecture as a story.
