梅雨のジメジメした日々にこそ訪れたい、雑色の隠れ家カフェCafé Pippis。私も実際に訪れてみて、店内の温かい木のぬくもりとレンガの小窓から覗くエスプレッソマシンの姿に心が和みました。店主さんが約10年間過ごしたフランスの雰囲気をそのままに、「厨房が見えるカフェ」というコンセプトがとても新鮮です。 特に印象的だったのは、注文を受けてから焼き上げるスコーンとクレープの出来立て感。スコーンは表面がサクサクで、中はしっとりほろほろの絶妙な食感。これまで私が知っていたスコーンとはまるで別物で、まさに衝撃の美味しさでした。使用している北海道産の生クリームや牛乳、フランス産の小麦、ニュージーランド産のグラスフェッドバターといったこだわりの素材が、 この味を支えているのだと納得。 クレープはもちもちの生地に優しい甘さが広がり、添えられた濃厚なソフトクリームとの相性も抜群です。コーヒーは自家焙煎豆をハンドドリップで淹れており、ミネラル豊かな熊本の水を使っていることで、深みのある味わいを楽しめました。 また、プリンやタルト、パウンドケーキなど季節ごとに変わる焼き菓子メニューも魅力。二階のソファ席でゆったり過ごすのもおすすめで、次回はぜひ長居してみたいと思います。まるでパリの小さなカフェにいるような、ほっとできる素敵な空間です。雨の日の外出に迷ったら、ぜひ訪れてみてください。
