Is Your Bill More Than £200 a Month

If Your Energy Bill Is More Than £200 a Month, You Need to Watch This

If your energy bill is over £200 a month, this is for you.

High bills aren’t always caused by higher usage.

Very often, it’s down to expired contracts, higher rates, or tariffs that no longer match how you use energy.

At Utility Network, we offer a free energy review based on your actual bill — not estimates.

We check your rates, usage, and contract end date,

then explain exactly where you stand.

📲 Upload your bill or WhatsApp a photo to 0330 133 2181

No pressure. No obligation. Just clear answers.

If your bill feels high, don’t assume it’s unavoidable.

Find out for sure.

This could help someone who’s quietly overpaying.

... Read moreNavigating household expenses can feel overwhelming, especially when your electric bill keeps creeping up. If you've ever looked at your statement and thought, 'Is my energy bill really over two hundred pounds a month?!' you're definitely not alone. It's easy to assume that a high bill simply means you're using more electricity, but my own experience has taught me that the truth can be a bit more complex, and often, there's a trick to it. Understanding your electric budget plan isn't just about cutting down usage; it's about dissecting what you're actually paying for. So, what exactly is an effective electric budget plan? Simply put, it's a proactive approach to managing your electricity costs by understanding the components of your bill and identifying opportunities for savings. Many of us just glance at the total, but there are crucial details hidden in plain sight that can explain why you might be overpaying. Let's break down what truly impacts your bill, beyond just 'your usage.' Firstly, your unit rates for electricity are paramount. These are the charges per kilowatt-hour (kWh) you consume. What I discovered is that these rates can change drastically, especially when contracts end quietly. You might be on an old, uncompetitive tariff without even realizing it. Secondly, standing charges are a daily fixed fee that suppliers charge, regardless of how much energy you use. While often smaller, they add up and are a consistent part of your cost. The biggest culprit for many, including myself, is the contract end date. It's a common trick utility companies can use. If your contract expires, you might automatically roll onto a standard, often much higher, variable tariff. This means you're paying more not because you've suddenly started boiling the kettle ten times a day, but because something has gone unchecked in your agreement. Suddenly, that £200 a month bill starts to make more sense – but it's far from normal or unavoidable. To really get a handle on your electric budget plan, here’s how I suggest starting. First, gather your actual bills. Forget estimates; you need the real figures. Next, scrutinize them. Look at your unit rates, your standing charges, and pay close attention to the contract end date. Are you still in a fixed-term deal? If not, what rates are you on? Are they still competitive for your usage patterns? If you find that your contract has ended, or your rates seem unusually high, you're likely overpaying. This is where the real savings can be uncovered. You could contact your current supplier, compare deals online, or, what I found incredibly helpful, consider getting a free energy review. These reviews, based on your real bill, can highlight hidden costs and show you exactly where you stand. They can even identify potential savings you didn't even know were possible, helping you create a much smarter electric budget plan. Don't just assume a high bill is 'just how it is.' Take control, understand your energy, and stop overpaying!
