I love a great restaurant with amazing food and fantastic customer service. All of their tables were hand crafted and imported from Africa. The clay walls were hand made too! I plan to check out happy hour soon, and you should too!

Visiting Mahari in Hyde Park truly feels like stepping into a unique dining experience that celebrates African culture through both food and ambiance. The handcrafted tables and clay walls aren’t just decor—they create an inviting and warm atmosphere that enhances every meal. One highlight of my visit was trying the three-course dinner special during Restaurant Week for just $65, offering incredible value considering the quality and quantity of food. Starting with bread and Creole sauced okra set a flavorful tone, followed by standout dishes like the pineapple glazed wings, which I’d rate a full 10 out of 10. The wings had the perfect balance of sweetness and tang, making them a must-try. The Rasta pasta stood out for its spicy kick, so if you’re sensitive to heat, be sure to request milder seasoning. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the Jollof rice platter paired with chicken, which brought authentic West African flavors to the table. The salmon balls were another surprise: crispy on the outside with a tasty rice filling inside, showcasing creative flair. Mahari also features live entertainment, which adds a festive vibe especially on special occasions like their anniversary. The staff are friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. I’m also excited to try their happy hour soon—heard it offers great deals and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere at a relaxed pace. If you decide to visit, making a reservation is a smart choice as the place gets busy quickly. Whether you’re dining for a special date night or a casual foodie adventure, Mahari offers a unique blend of incomparable food and artistic ambiance that’s worth experiencing more than once.
