Time for Work:)

Mondays=first day of work for the week. I’ve been working at this place for 4 years. I work Monday-Friday 11-4 every week. It is not bad shifts at all because I get to sleep in a bit and I still have a lot of day to do whatever else I want. I also love having weekends off which is the best part. Some nights I will also deliver for about 3 hours to make some extra money.

Do you guys like where you work?

... Read moreIt seems like everyone talks about the "9 to 5 workday" as the gold standard, right? You know, waking up early, commuting during rush hour, and then feeling drained by the time you clock out. For years, I just assumed that was the only way to have a "real" job. But after trying different schedules, I've realized that the traditional 9-5 isn't for everyone – and definitely not for me! My current 11-4 shift, which I've happily worked for four years, feels like a sweet escape from that conventional grind. I mean, waking up without an alarm blaring at 6 AM? Pure bliss! It means I can ease into my morning, maybe even enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before starting my day. When I get to work, the first thing is always grabbing my energy drink – that Alani Nu Orange Kiss is my go-to for a little pick-me-up! Then it's straight into prepping for the shift. My "TO DO" list always starts with practical things: making sure we have enough small cups and big cups, filling up the ice machine, brewing fresh tea, and getting the sanitizer water mixed just right. There’s a certain satisfaction in getting all the details right, like folding silverware neatly or organizing the various sizes of boxes we use for orders. It’s a different kind of busy than a desk job, but it’s fulfilling in its own way. What I love most about my 11-4 schedule is the incredible work-life balance it offers. I get to sleep in a bit, avoid the worst of the morning traffic, and then I'm done by mid-afternoon! This means I still have a huge chunk of my day left to run errands, hit the gym, or just relax. It feels like I'm getting two afternoons every day. Plus, having every weekend completely off is non-negotiable for me now. Those two full days are perfect for recharging and spending time with friends and family, without having to cram everything into a few precious hours. Another huge benefit of this flexible schedule is the ability to earn extra income without feeling completely burnt out. Some nights, after my main shift, I'll do about three hours of delivery work. It's amazing how much that little bit extra helps, and because my main job isn't a grueling 9-5, I still have the energy for it. It really makes me wonder why more people don't explore alternative work schedules. While the 9-5 provides structure and consistency for many, it's worth considering if it truly aligns with your personal energy levels and life goals. Perhaps a compressed work week, flexible hours, or even a part-time role could offer a better fit. It’s all about finding something that truly works for you and makes you excited to say, "Time for Work:)" every day. Do you love where you work, and more importantly, do you love when you work?
