5🌟Duology

Rebel Witch ❤️‍🔥 Review

This was a five star duology for me. Start to finish it had me gripped. One of my favorite witch stories ever. The family history, magic, and sacrifices being made in the name of love were woven into the perfect recipe for a continuous storytelling. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that had me questioning both main characters motives this much. @kristenciccarelli is so talented in her writing, being ten steps ahead of the reader without missing a beat, but also never letting me feel left behind unraveling the plot right at the perfect moment. I was following along all of the mysterious and enchanting twists and turns. The ending revelations and conclusion were perfect. I need all and more from this author immediately.

... Read moreYou know when you pick up a book and just know it's going to be special? That's exactly how I felt diving into Kristen Ciccarelli's 'The Rebel Witch' duology, which includes 'The Crimson Moth.' I mean, a 5-star rating isn't something I give out lightly, but this series genuinely blew me away and solidified its spot as one of my all-time favorite witch stories. As someone who's read countless fantasy novels, finding a duology that feels fresh, ambitious, and utterly captivating is a rare gem, and this one shines so brightly. What truly sets this duology apart in the crowded world of fantasy is how Ciccarelli weaves such a rich tapestry of magic and familial lore. It's not just about spells and potions; it's about deep-rooted family history, ancient curses, and the complex choices characters make when love and loyalty collide. The sacrifices made in the name of love? They'll absolutely break your heart and put it back together again, often leaving you questioning everyone's motives – even the characters you thought you had figured out. The emotional depth she brings to her characters, even the morally gray ones, is just phenomenal, making their struggles feel incredibly real and impactful. I found myself constantly trying to anticipate the plot, but Kristen Ciccarelli is a master storyteller. She was always ten steps ahead, unraveling the mysteries and enchanting twists right when I least expected them, yet never making me feel lost. It’s like she perfectly paces the reveals, so you’re always on the edge of your seat, piecing together clues with just enough information to keep you hooked. The way she builds the world, with its unique magical system and compelling characters, is just *chef's kiss*. The pacing is relentless in the best way possible, urging you to turn just one more page, then another, until suddenly it's 3 AM and you've finished the book. For anyone who loves a good witch theme, this duology delivers on all fronts. The magic feels organic and powerful, tied intrinsically to the characters' heritage. The imagery, even just from reading, comes alive. I could almost picture the flickering red candles and the intricate details on the lace cloth from the book's aesthetic, adding to that immersive witchy vibe. It’s not just a story; it’s an experience that pulls you into its world completely. If you appreciate fantasy that challenges your perceptions and delivers a truly satisfying payoff, this is it. If you're looking for book recommendations that will consume your thoughts long after you've turned the last page, please, please pick up 'The Rebel Witch' and 'The Crimson Moth.' The ending revelations and the overall conclusion left me completely satisfied, yet yearning for more from this incredibly talented author. I've already added all her other works to my TBR pile! This isn't just a book review; it's a heartfelt plea to experience this incredible journey yourself. You won't regret it.
