Rites Of The Starling 🪽 Review & Quotes
So with SOS I enjoyed it, I thought the cliffhanger was so good. Entertaining right ? A good time right ? THIS BOOK !!!! Ok, I was preparing myself to possibly be emotional (based off reaction vids) but I wasn’t ready for the sobbing. Waking up the the next day had me reflecting on how beautiful and thoughtful the author pulled everything together with a flow that had a slow pace with a purpose. I appreciate a writing style that keeps you guessing and eventually closes with an extraordinary outcome. I want to reread it already. I know it will be even better because realizing now what was going on and my own pace picking up on the new characters. This story just took a whole new turn and it’s become a top series for me.
***SPOILER REVIEW ***
This is for only those who have read this book. First, I want to highlight Odessa’s character growth. She’s become such a strong badass FMC. Some of the most confident unapologetic moments and I wanted that so much from her in this book and she delivered all the while being able to shift ( haha shift ) into a soft motherly tone for our little star Evie. The brotherhood got me all kinds of effed up. Im so invested in the lore, the tie ins with the magic, orbits, and starling. This world and its history is so interesting and Im WAY more invested than before.
Randsom’s cure needs to hurry up and I guessed it right away about Xandra, and like it was said “where there is poison, there is the cure”. Caspia and Andreas story has to be one of the most devastatingly heartbreaking love stories I have ever read. Her living with the visions and having to create a life outside of knowing the possibility of them was so hard to read. It will stay with me for a long time, how could it not. The “my wife is cold” moment will haunt me and don’t even get me started on him running his hands over Caspias writing in her journal. I’m so unwell and that last page needs to go straight to the cell that Random was in.
