For larger collections, especially those chunky 'OMNIBUS' editions, I found it beneficial to create separate sections for them. Their size can sometimes make a shelf look messy if they're mixed in with standard tankobon volumes, so giving them their own space really cleaned up the overall look. Seeing them all lined up, like my 'Waiting for Spring' series, just sparks so much joy and makes the shelf feel less cluttered. Beyond just grouping, I focused on strategic placement. My absolute favorites or ongoing series that I frequently reread went at eye level. This makes them easily accessible and a joy to look at. I also tried to create visual balance. If I had a tall series, I'd balance it with a shorter one next to it, or use horizontal stacking for a few volumes to break up the vertical lines. Don't underestimate the power of negative space! Leaving a little breathing room between different sections or genres can make the entire shelf feel less cramped and more curated. While sorting, I rediscovered some hidden gems! I made sure to give my full run of 'The Way of the Househusband' a prime spot – it always makes me laugh and deserves to be easily accessible. And seeing my 'Waiting for Spring' collection all lined up perfectly just sparks joy. I also have some smaller, lesser-known titles like 'HAIK' and 'HEAR THE' that I wanted to highlight, so I placed them strategically to catch the eye. It's not just about tidiness; it's about showcasing your favorites and making your collection a reflection of your personality. One practical thing I learned is to utilize vertical space wisely.
