Women are naturally inclined to nurture and “go hard” for everyone in the emotional, logistical, and physical sense.
More importantly, however, we must allow God to pour into us spiritually so that we keep a regulated mind, set boundaries when needed, and take the right action because we heard God’s voice.
Remember, all “good things” are not “God things” that he told us to do. If you are on the wrong assignment, which may have been meant for someone else to rise up and do, you aren’t in alignment with what God asked.
Therefore, take time to hear God’s voice regardless of the busyness. Pray, read scripture, and devote some time to meditating on God’s word.
Make sure your family respects your time as well. Your space can be in the car, in the bathroom, in your closet, or on your patio. Just find a space.

... Read moreIn my personal experience, having a designated prayer space has been transformative for my spiritual growth and mental clarity. It doesn’t have to be grand or elaborate—sometimes, a quiet corner in your home or even a spot in your car can serve as your sanctuary. The key is consistency and intentionality. Carving out a few minutes each day to connect with God helps me reset and refocus, especially when life’s demands seem overwhelming.
One important lesson I’ve learned is to guard this time fiercely. It’s vital to communicate with family members about your need for uninterrupted spiritual moments. Setting these boundaries ensures that your prayer space remains a place of solace rather than distraction.
Additionally, praying and meditating on scripture regularly has deepened my understanding of God’s guidance. It’s helped me recognize when I might be investing energy in “good things” that aren’t aligned with God’s specific calling for me. This discernment brings peace, knowing that I’m following God’s voice rather than just doing more for the sake of doing.
If you’re searching for inspiration on creating your prayer space, consider different environments—maybe a cozy nook with soft lighting, a spot on your patio for fresh air, or even your closet where you can have privacy. Each place offers a unique atmosphere for reflection and spiritual nourishment.
Overall, developing a prayer space is a sacred practice that nurtures your soul, helps regulate your mind, and empowers you to take thoughtful actions aligned with your faith. It’s a gift to yourself that benefits not just you but also those you care for, as it refreshes your spirit and strengthens your ability to serve with clarity and purpose.
