BUMMERTOWN is here!!
💜i am fully aware that the world is weird right now…
I MADE BUMMERTOWN
FOR TIMES LIKE THESE.
it’s full of reminders to take care of yourself.
it’s an adventure, an escape, a way to face your fears in a safe place. it’s full of weirdos + heros, dreams + scary things…
✧
by winter of 2020, my mind was a mess.
so i wrote through it.
hidden inside BUMMERTOWN are subliminal messages about relationships, longing to leave a world you feel trapped in, losing sense of reality, feeling like it is the end of the world, the pain of losing a loved one (in my case, my biological Dad), dealing with depression + anxiety, and finally, learning to let go so you can make room for better things…
it’s all there.
my journey.
OUR journey.
because now, you can visit BUMMERTOWN anytime you need to.
the best part is, you don’t have to live in bummertown forever.
walking through BUMMERTOWN + all if it’s emotions was a journey i needed to take.
it was my therapy.
i hope it can get you through the tough times too. 🤍

When I first embarked on the journey that led to BUMMERTOWN, I was in a place many of us recognize: feeling overwhelmed, lost, and struggling with the weight of the world. It wasn't just about crafting an album; it was about building a sanctuary, a creative space where I could confront my deepest fears and emotions without judgment. The act of writing, composing, and creating became my most profound form of therapy. It's amazing how channeling raw feelings into art can transform them from crushing burdens into something tangible, something you can understand and eventually release. Music, in particular, has this incredible ability to articulate what words sometimes can't, offering both solace and strength. For anyone grappling with similar feelings – whether it's the pain of loss, the grip of anxiety, or the pervasive sense of feeling trapped – finding a creative outlet can be a lifeline. It doesn't have to be music; it could be painting, writing, gardening, or anything that allows you to express your inner world. BUMMERTOWN, for me, was a reminder to take care of myself, to allow myself to feel without getting stuck. This concept of self-care is so vital, especially when life feels chaotic. It's not just about bubble baths; it's about actively carving out space for your mental and emotional well-being. Think about what your 'Bummertown' might be – a quiet corner for reading, a nature trail for walking, a craft that absorbs your focus. These personal escapes are crucial for processing thoughts and recharging your spirit. They offer a temporary refuge, a place to acknowledge the 'weirdos and heroes,' the 'dreams and scary things' within your own experience. One of the most powerful lessons embedded in BUMMERTOWN, and in my own journey, is the importance of learning to let go. When you're dealing with overwhelming emotions, it's easy to feel stuck, as if the 'end of the world' is at hand. But just as you can visit BUMMERTOWN, you don't have to live there forever. Processing these feelings through creative expression, or simply by giving yourself permission to experience them, creates space for healing and growth. It allows you to make room for 'better things,' for new perspectives and opportunities. It's a continuous process, not a destination. Each step, each song, each moment of self-reflection helps you move forward, transforming your personal struggles into sources of resilience and understanding. What I truly hope is that BUMMERTOWN resonates with others because these journeys of dealing with relationships, longing, loss, and mental health challenges are often universal. Knowing that someone else has walked a similar path, and found a way to articulate it, can be incredibly comforting. It’s a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we're not entirely alone. This shared experience, sometimes hidden in the 'subliminal messages' of art, can be a powerful catalyst for our own healing. So, when you step into BUMMERTOWN, remember it’s not just my story; it’s an invitation to explore your own, to find your strength, and ultimately, to emerge with renewed hope.
