Visiting Tower of Pisa was such a dream
Visiting Pisa was such a dream 🇮🇹✨ Of course, the Leaning Tower is the star — but did you know there are actually 3 incredible structures on Pisa’s Central Square (Piazza dei Miracoli)? 🏛️ The Leaning Tower, the Cathedral (Duomo), and the Baptistery all stand together, creating one of the most breathtaking squares in Italy. Walking through history here was unforgettable! 🌍📸

After years of dreaming, my Italian adventure finally took me to Pisa, and let me tell you, it was even more incredible than I imagined! Everyone talks about the Leaning Tower, and it truly is magnificent, but the entire Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) is what truly captivated my heart. When I first stepped onto that expansive, emerald green lawn, a sense of awe washed over me. It wasn't just a patch of grass; it was the vibrant carpet connecting three architectural masterpieces: the iconic Tower of Pisa, the majestic Duomo (Pisa Cathedral), and the intricately designed Baptistery. I spent ages just sitting on the lawn, soaking in the atmosphere, watching people take their playful 'holding up the tower' photos. It's such a photogenic spot, and the green lawn provides the perfect contrast to the white marble structures, making every picture postcard-perfect! My top tip for visiting is to arrive early, especially if you want to experience the tranquility before the crowds descend. I managed to get some incredible shots of the Tower of Pisa bathed in the soft morning light. Speaking of the structures, while the Leaning Tower naturally steals the show, please don't skip the others! The Pisa Cathedral, or Duomo di Pisa, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture. Inside, the intricate mosaics and powerful frescoes tell centuries of stories. And the Baptistery? It's the largest in Italy, with incredible acoustics. If you're lucky, you might even hear someone demonstrating its unique echo – it's hauntingly beautiful. Getting to Pisa is super easy. I took a direct train from Florence, and it was a comfortable journey. From Pisa Centrale station, you can either take a short bus ride or enjoy a pleasant 20-minute walk through the charming streets of Pisa to reach the Piazza dei Miracoli. I chose to walk and loved seeing the city come alive. For tickets, I highly recommend booking online in advance, especially if you plan to climb the Tower of Pisa. Slots fill up fast! A combined ticket for all three structures is usually the best value. But even if you only have time to wander the grounds and marvel at these historical wonders, it’s an experience you won't forget. The combination of history, art, and that incredible green lawn makes Pisa an absolute must-see on any Italian itinerary. It really felt like stepping back in time, and I left feeling completely inspired and ready for more Italian discoveries!
