Follow me off the resort to The New Duff! I ordered 2 jerk chicken stuffed buns and they were so good. 15/10 ratings in my book, no exaggeration 😌. Thanks to the local taxi guy he highly recommended this place to me and they did not disappoint. I also ordered a lavender lemonade with my meal. What I thought was unique about their lemonades is they have a sweetness meter on the menu and you use that chart to tell the server how sweet you want your lemonade. The lemonade was freshly squeezed and the hint of lavender enhanced the flavors. Service was prompt and the meal was a reasonable price. Can you really put a price on good food though, let’s be honest 😂. Anyways when visiting Nassau, Bahamas please visit The New Duff and taste for yourself the different food options. #nassaubahamas#internationaltravel#travelwithme2025#internationalfood#lemon8travellerNassau
... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial rave about The New Duff in Nassau, but honestly, I just have to spill more details because this place is truly something special. When my local taxi driver recommended it, I knew I was in for an authentic treat, and it delivered way beyond expectations. If you're looking to taste the real flavors of the Bahamas beyond the tourist traps, this is your spot!
Let's talk about those jerk chicken stuffed buns first. The original review gives them a 15/10, and I stand by that! Imagine perfectly seasoned, tender jerk chicken, packed inside a warm, soft bun – it's a flavor explosion. The richness of the chicken combined with the slight sweetness of the bun creates an unforgettable bite. Plus, they were served with a fresh coleslaw and a drizzle of sauce, adding that perfect tangy crunch to balance everything out in the white foam takeout container. I saw on their digital menu board that they have other food options too, so I'm already planning what to try next time.
And the lavender lemonade? Pure genius. What truly impressed me was their 'Sweetness Levels' chart displayed on the menu board. Seriously, how cool is that? You get to customize your drink exactly how you like it. My lavender lemonade, with its subtle floral hint and perfectly balanced sweetness, was incredibly refreshing, especially after exploring Nassau in the Caribbean heat. The clear plastic cup had a cute 'bahleaf' logo sticker, and the green and white striped straw just added to the whole tropical vibe. It felt freshly squeezed, and that extra bit of personalization made it feel like a craft beverage, not just a simple lemonade. They also offer various teas if you're not in the mood for lemonade, giving you plenty of choices.
Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere at The New Duff is so welcoming and vibrant. From the moment I saw the red and white striped sign and the neon 'OPEN' sign glowing in the window, I knew it was a place with character. Inside, it's cozy with a charming interior, featuring small wooden tables and chairs set against walls adorned with red and white diagonal stripes and the restaurant's circular logo. There’s even a vibrant mural depicting a woman with curly hair styled as pastries, which really speaks to the creative energy of the place. I loved seeing the wall decorated with framed newspaper clippings about the restaurant and local events, along with personal photos and decorative wooden cutting boards – it all tells a story and makes you feel like you're part of the community. They also have a display case filled with interesting artifacts, like a model ship, a straw hat, and decorative bottles, giving you little glimpses into Bahamian culture while you wait.
For anyone planning a trip to Nassau, I absolutely urge you to follow the locals' advice and visit The New Duff. It's truly a gem 'off the resort' that offers authentic flavors at a reasonable price, proving that good food doesn't have to break the bank. Service was prompt and friendly, making the entire visit a breeze. Don't miss out on this incredible culinary adventure – your taste buds will thank you!
