Improving social skills can be particularly challenging yet rewarding for neurodivergent women, especially those who identify as Catholic or Christian. From my own experience, integrating faith-based principles with personal development strategies provides a meaningful pathway to growth. Firstly, understanding that social skills involve more than just conversation—it's about connection, empathy, and authentic presence. As a neurodivergent individual, I found it helpful to develop routines and scripts ahead of social interactions, which reduced anxiety and helped me engage more effectively. Being part of a faith community also plays a huge role. Attending church groups or faith-based gatherings where others share similar values creates a supportive environment to practice these skills. For example, volunteering in ministry or community service allows social interaction to feel purposeful and less pressured. Another important aspect I discovered was self-compassion. Acknowledging that social challenges are a part of my neurodivergent experience helped me set realistic goals and celebrate small victories. Journaling prayers or reflections on social encounters helped me integrate spiritual growth with social learning. Finally, utilizing resources such as books on neurodiversity, joining online support groups for autistic adults, and seeking guidance from mentors within my faith community enriched my journey. These tools fostered resilience and deeper understanding.
