Out with the Old, In with the New! 💛🍋

💛 I am excited to show off the start of my planner journey and my personal curriculum journey. I have loved my bloom planner so much and honestly kept up with it for about 65-80% of the year! Which is good for me because I never last with planners. As a sub, it’s just so easy to keep track and it’s really simple.

💛 My personal curriculum was totally influenced by people on YouTube but I love learning. I want to begin learning again and for free too! The notebook I have had for a while just used it to decorate and keep track of things analog style and I may begin to use notion but only for the technology part of it like assignments and everything.

💛 My student/hobby/habit planner is coming along! I may take out some inserts for it to not be as chunky right now since I’m not using yet. But I am exciting to so. I wanted to keep my personal curriculum and everything else separate from my work planner. I know I want a reading journal, habits, and to dos to put in here. I think I’m just going to make my own. It’s very expensive to buy the inserts compared to a couple of one time purchases.

💛 Please let me know what you think!:)

... Read moreHey everyone! Building on my planner journey, I wanted to dive deeper into something that has truly transformed my approach to learning: creating a personal curriculum. When I first started thinking about learning beyond formal education, it felt a bit overwhelming. But just like setting up my bloom daily planner for 2026, I realized breaking it down makes all the difference. For me, it's about reclaiming that joy of discovery, much like the "Personal Curriculum & Command Center" notebook I showed, filled with quotes and inspirations. So, what exactly is a personal curriculum? Think of it as your very own custom-designed learning path, tailored to your interests and goals, completely free from academic pressures. The original article mentioned my personal curriculum was influenced by YouTube, and that's a fantastic starting point! The beauty of it is, you decide what to learn, when, and how. It's about feeding your curiosity and growing in areas you're passionate about, whether it's for a hobby, a new skill, or just pure intellectual delight. I find it so empowering to be in charge of my own learning. If you're wondering how to get started with your own "Personal Curriculum Ideas," here’s how I approach it. First, brainstorm topics that genuinely excite you. Do you want to learn a new language, like French-Canadian (as I've listed in my own notebook)? Or perhaps dive into a subject like anthropology, or even master a creative skill like handwriting? I keep a dedicated section in my planner, or even a separate notebook, to jot down these interests. My "This Year's Visions" page often includes learning goals. Identify Resources: This is where the 'learning for free' part comes in! YouTube, free online courses (Coursera, edX, Khan Academy), library books, podcasts, and even social media accounts dedicated to specific subjects are incredible resources. For example, if I'm studying French, I'll find free apps, YouTube channels for pronunciation, and maybe even a local language exchange group. Set Small, Achievable Goals: Instead of saying 'I'll learn Spanish,' try 'I'll dedicate 30 minutes every day to a Spanish app' or 'I'll learn 10 new Spanish words this week.' I use my daily planner pages to block out these learning slots, treating them with the same importance as any other appointment. This is where my 'Student planner' comes in handy, even if I'm not a formal student. Track Your Progress: This is crucial for motivation! In my planner, I have habit trackers for my learning sessions. Seeing those checkboxes filled in is incredibly satisfying. You could also keep a learning journal, summarizing what you've learned each week, or practice what you're learning. For instance, if you're learning photography, go out and take photos! My 2026 bloom daily planner isn't just for appointments; it's a central hub for my personal growth. I dedicate sections for 'Personal Curriculum Ideas,' listing out subjects, resources, and weekly tasks. The OCR even highlighted "MY WORD OF THE YEAR Determination" – and that applies perfectly to sticking with a personal curriculum. Having a dedicated space, like the monthly calendar spread, helps me visualize my learning alongside my other commitments. Remember, it's about making learning a sustainable, enjoyable part of your life, not another chore. So, grab your favorite pens and markers, and start sketching out your learning adventure!
