💛 I used to use the old foundation formula when it was in the glass bottle. I remembered liking it so I thought it wouldn’t be a drastic difference. But it totally was. Even with skin prep, it doesn’t lay on my skin the way I want it too. It separates a lot on my cheeks which isn’t great because it showed when I wore blush and bronzer. It has coverage and you build it up. The shade range isn’t the greatest. I think the original line had more shades even.

💛 The concealer is even worst. It separated when it was laying on top or under the foundation and broke up the foundation when it was on top. It was patchy. Set down way too fast and just not user friendly. As a substitute teacher, I just wanna do my makeup with ease and call it a day in the morning. I don’t want to sit there and be fickle with my makeup when I know it’s going to rub off. The only pro that it has is decent coverage when it wants to kinda work.

💛 The powder did not but enhance it. Even when used with other products, it makes the skin look chalky and heavy. But my other powder products work with it for the most part except for the areas where it’s patchy.

💛 Overall, I don’t like this line. I have about face and that seems to work for now.
... Read moreWhen I first heard about the Covergirl Clean Invisible line, I was genuinely excited. The promise of a 'clean,' lightweight foundation that offers a natural, invisible finish sounded like a dream, especially for someone like me who needs quick, reliable makeup for busy mornings. It's designed to give you that 'your skin but better' look, often with claims of being non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin. I remembered loving the old formula for just that reason – it blended seamlessly and felt comfortable all day. This is what the product is supposed to be for.
However, my experience with this updated formula couldn't have been more different from its supposed purpose. The most frustrating part was the patchiness across all three products, as the image text rightly emphasized. The foundation, despite careful skin prep, just wouldn't lay smoothly. It seemed to cling to any hint of dryness, creating an uneven texture that made my complexion look worse, not better. And the concealer? It was a disaster. It dried almost instantly, making it impossible to blend without it separating or breaking up the foundation underneath, making my under-eye area look even more fatigued.
The issue of *separation*, which was a major point in my initial review and highlighted in the OCR, was particularly disheartening. Within just a couple of hours, I'd notice the foundation starting to pull apart on my cheeks, especially around my nose and mouth. This isn't just an aesthetic problem; it completely undermines the idea of an 'invisible' finish. Instead, it drew attention to my foundation, making it obvious I was wearing makeup, and not in a good way. It felt heavy and uncomfortable, almost as if it was actively fighting against my skin. The powder, instead of setting everything nicely, just enhanced this mess, leaving a chalky and heavy appearance.
Considering Covergirl is typically a drugstore brand, the expectation is usually good performance for an affordable price. That's the 'value for money' sweet spot we all look for. Unfortunately, for this particular line, I truly felt like it was money wasted. Even at its accessible price point, if a product doesn't perform its basic function and causes more problems than it solves, it has zero value. I've used many affordable foundations and concealers that deliver far superior results. The constant struggle to make it work, only for it to fail hours later, made it a poor investment of both my time and money. The 'Hate the new formula' sentiment from the OCR really resonates with me, as it truly felt like a step backward from what Covergirl used to offer.
If you're on the hunt for a 'clean' or natural-finish foundation that actually works, I'd honestly advise looking elsewhere. While I'm still exploring, I've found that some other drugstore brands offer much better lightweight options that don't suffer from these severe separation and patchiness issues. If you're drawn to the 'clean' aspect, reading reviews from people with similar skin types and concerns is crucial, as what works for one person might be entirely different for another. For a truly invisible, comfortable finish, prioritizing hydration in your skin prep and choosing a foundation known for its skin-like properties is often key. Don't fall for the hype if the product actively causes issues like drying or making your skin look chalky.
