... Read moreRecovering from major heart surgery is a profound journey that often reshapes one's perspective on life. Six years post-operation, I found myself reflecting deeply on the immense impact my heart doctor had on my recovery—not just medically but emotionally. During those early days after surgery, every heartbeat was a reminder of the fragile gift I had received. Dealing with complications such as kidney failure alongside heart issues added layers of complexity to my treatment. The support and expertise of my medical team in Singapore were invaluable; they navigated me through those challenges with care and dedication. Expressing gratitude to the doctor who played a key role in my survival was an emotional moment for me. It reminded me of how small the world is, how connections made in difficult times become treasured lifelines. This journey wasn’t just about physical healing—it was about rediscovering life’s potential and embracing a future I once thought impossible. For anyone facing similar health battles, remember that recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. Lean on your support system and acknowledge every step forward. Being blessed with a new lease on life means cherishing the gift of health and honoring those who help you along the way. Truly, being able to thank my heart doctor after all these years reinforced my commitment to live fully and gratefully every day.

How I found out
The year leading up to it had already worn me thin. Months of explaining myself. Softening my needs. Convincing myself that love sometimes just feels like endurance. When he told me he was going away to the UK for a month to visit his family, I offered to cat-sit at his place. It felt natural
