🇯🇵 Kobe 2 Days: Beef & Harbor Lights 🌃

Kobe Travel Diary 🇯🇵 — City Views, Steak, and Sea Breeze

After Tokyo’s rush, Kobe felt slower, calmer — a perfect two‑day breather.

March 21 — Arriving in Kobe

Took the shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Shin-Kobe Station (about 2 hr 40 min).

Checked into ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe by IHG — my room had gorgeous city views.

Walked down for lunch at Steakland Kobe🥩 — the famous Kobe beef really melted in my mouth.

Spent the rest of the day wandering Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street— vibrant, full of shops and cafés.

Ended the day watching the city lights from my hotel window🌃.

March 22 — Herbs, Streets & the Sea

Took the Nunobiki Ropeway up to the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens & Ropeway  — cool air and endless floral scents all around🌿.

Back down to Kobe Motomachi Shopping St and Kobe Chinatown Nankin-machi for snacks and souvenirs.

Then headed to Kobe Harborland umie and Kobe Harborland umie Mosaic — sea breeze, desserts, and street performances by the bay🎶.

Watched the sun set from the Kobe Port Tower🌇 — a perfect ending to my Kobe chapter.

March 23 — Next stop: Osaka! 🎌

... Read moreDuring my two-day trip to Kobe, I really embraced the city's unique rhythm that contrasts beautifully with Tokyo's fast pace. One highlight was savoring the melt-in-your-mouth Kobe beef at Steakland, which truly lives up to its legendary reputation. If you’re a food lover visiting Kobe, don’t miss the chance to try this local delicacy—it’s worth every bite. Additionally, taking the Nunobiki Ropeway to the Herb Gardens was a refreshing escape. The fragrant air and lush plants created a peaceful oasis that was perfect for recharging my energy. It’s a spot where you can feel nature’s calm right above the bustling city. Exploring the local shopping streets like Sannomiya Center Gai and Motomachi is a great way to experience Kobe’s lively urban culture. Here, you can hunt for unique souvenirs and enjoy authentic street snacks, including treats from Kobe Chinatown Nankin-machi, which offers a vibrant blend of cultures. For a relaxing finale, I watched the sunset from Kobe Port Tower. The panoramic views of the harbor shimmering under the colorful sky truly encapsulate the city’s charm. The nearby Harborland area with its sea breeze, sweet treats, and street performances adds to the captivating atmosphere—perfect for winding down after a bustling day. If you’re planning a short getaway in Japan, Kobe offers a wonderful mix of culinary delights, scenic tranquility, and cultural vibrancy. Make sure to allocate time for these experiences to fully appreciate the city’s character beyond just the famous beef.
