Let’s perfect your RDL form🤍
… Beginner Friendly! Rdls are one of the best excersises that can target your glutes & hamstrings.
This form of RDLs is glute focused, because my knees were slightly bending. For a more hamstring focused keep your legs alittle straight.
Rdls was honestly one of the hardest excersises for me to asjust to & not feel the pain in my lower back. Keep practicing, don’t give up on them bc once you master it, you’ll feel so accomplished 🥹😭!!!
Tip: If you feel like your form is correct, but still feel it in your lower back.. lower the weight🤍
When I first started doing Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs), I found it challenging to keep proper form without feeling strain in my lower back. One important tip I learned is to make sure your chest is poked out and your back stays straight throughout the movement. Standing shoulder-width apart, you want to push your hips back while hinging at your hips rather than bending at the waist. Engaging your glutes is key to preventing lower back discomfort and optimizing the exercise. As you lower down, keep the weights close to your legs and try to avoid rounding your spine. If you still feel pain despite maintaining good form, lowering the weight will help your muscles adapt safely. Another useful hint is to slightly bend your knees when focusing on glutes, and keep them straighter to target your hamstrings more. Remember to push through your heels on the way up to engage the right muscles. I recommend practicing in front of a mirror or recording yourself to check your posture and movement. Over time, these small corrections will boost your confidence and results. Don’t rush the process—mastering the RDL is incredibly rewarding and makes a noticeable difference in your lower body strength and shape.
