Couldn’t get past how absurd all the walking stuff

I’ve run marathons and hiked for months straight. So when I watched The Long Walk, I just couldn’t buy into it. It was so ridiculous. Stephen King must’ve never walked more than 5 miles in a single go seriously. And anyone who takes this movie at face value? Same vibe. These 18yo guys, with zero obvious serious training, are casually strolling distances that’d make even the world’s top endurance athletes collapse. And get this, they’re doing it in jeans, leather work boots, tennis shoes, and button-up shirts. Oh, come on! By 25 miles, most people’s feet would be covered in huge blisters. At 50, they’d be bleeding messes. Hit 100+ miles? Those feet wouldn’t even look like feet anymore. So this is a joke. Did anyone else feel this way? Am I the only one who couldn’t get past how absurd all the walking stuff was?
