... Read moreTrying out new foundations is always a bit of a journey, especially when it comes to finding the perfect shade that complements my skin tone. With Rare Beauty's new satin matte foundation, I was intrigued by its promise of a lightweight feel and a flawless satin matte finish. My experience with shade 15, the light medium neutral (neutral beige), was quite positive, primarily because the formula balanced coverage and comfort exceptionally well. What I appreciated most was how this foundation didn’t feel heavy or cakey on my skin. The satin matte texture gave a natural look with just enough glow to avoid the dreaded flat matte appearance, which I often find unflattering. Applying it with the provided beauty sponge and the makeup spatula was convenient, and I noticed the formula blended seamlessly, reducing redness and evening out my complexion nicely. I’m especially picky about how foundations work throughout the day, and this one held up well without feeling dry or too oily. The coverage was buildable, allowing me to conceal minor imperfections while keeping a fresh, breathable finish. One tip I’d share from my experience is to swatch Rare Beauty foundations in-person if possible. The neutral shades can have subtle undertone variations like peach or beige, which might look different depending on your lighting and skin undertone. Compared to other satin matte foundations I’ve tried, including Anastasia’s, Rare Beauty’s formula felt lighter yet still provided effective coverage. If you are someone who prefers makeup that looks natural but polished, this foundation is worth trying. The ease of use and beginner-friendly packaging added to the overall positive impression. In conclusion, if you’re considering the light to light medium neutral shades and want a foundation that offers a soft matte finish with a hint of natural radiance, Rare Beauty’s shade 15 might be a great choice. Just remember, foundation shades can appear differently once fully blended, so testing in store or ordering a sample can help ensure you find your best match.
