When someone gains influence over your emotions, they essentially gain control over your mindset, decisions, and overall energy — often referred to as your "frequency." I've found that people who master their emotional responses are less likely to be swayed by negativity or manipulation. One strategy that helped me is becoming more aware of my triggers and reactions. When I feel a strong emotional response emerging, I pause and ask myself why I’m reacting this way and whether this reaction serves my well-being. Mindfulness and reflection have been vital in this process. It allows me to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively to external influences. Another important aspect is setting boundaries with those who tend to induce negative emotions. Whether it’s toxic conversations or manipulative behaviors, limiting exposure reduces the chances of someone controlling my emotional state. I also focus on surrounding myself with supportive people who uplift my spirit rather than drain my energy. Lastly, I believe that nurturing self-compassion is critical. Being kind to myself during emotional moments helps me regain balance faster without judgment or guilt, which are often tools used by others to manipulate emotions. Remember, controlling your emotional frequency is not about suppressing feelings but managing how you allow external forces to shape your inner world. By practicing emotional awareness, setting strong boundaries, and embracing self-compassion, you can protect your emotional freedom and live a more empowered life.
