My first card convention at Card Con 2
Finally got to visit my first card convention and it was honestly a fun experience.
I went in with a few cards in mind, but once I got inside, my mind just went blank. Definitely learned my lesson, I’d recommend preparing a list of cards (with prices) beforehand to stay on track.
Didn’t manage to get any cards for my 151 Pokédex collection, but I still picked up some horde cards at pretty good prices, so I’d still call it a win.

Also, arriving early can help beat peak crowds, giving you more time to browse and negotiate with vendors calmly. As I jokingly noted from the signage at the event — "Damage of the day: Money were harmed..My money.." — card conventions can be tempting spending traps. Track your expenses closely to enjoy the event without regret. Overall, Card Con 2 was not just about buying cards but also about connecting with a vibrant trading card scene. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a newcomer, proper preparation and an open mind can turn your first convention into a memorable adventure.
