✨Healing means sometimes outgrowing people✨

Something I didn’t expect about healing—something no one really prepares you for—is how much you have to let go of while you’re learning how to hold yourself.

In the process of growing and choosing a version of me that feels safe, honest, and real… I lost all of my high school friends. People I once thought would be around forever just slowly stopped fitting. I also had to make the incredibly hard decision to cut off most of my family—because peace started to matter more than keeping the connection out of guilt or habit.

As I began setting boundaries, choosing rest over survival mode, and finally listening to what I actually need… everything started shifting. Conversations got harder. Some people couldn’t (or wouldn’t) see who I was becoming. They only saw the version of me that stayed small to keep others comfortable.

And yeah—it’s been painful. Grieving people who are still alive always is. But it’s also been necessary.

Healing isn’t just about feeling better. It’s about becoming. Expanding. Learning to protect your space and your energy. And that kind of growth means some people won’t come with you.

If you’re in this place too—losing relationships you thought were forever—you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re just becoming more you. And the people aligned with this version of you… they’ll find you. You won’t have to shrink to keep them.

... Read moreHealing is a profound and deeply personal process that not only involves overcoming past pains but also evolving into a more authentic and fulfilled version of yourself. One challenging but essential aspect of this journey is the realization that not all relationships will continue to serve your growth or well-being. As healing progresses, it often necessitates outgrowing certain people—those who once felt like home but no longer align with your evolving values and emotional needs. This process can be painful because it may involve letting go of long-standing connections, but it is a critical step for reclaiming your space and choosing peace. Setting clear boundaries becomes vital, as it fosters healthier interactions and prevents one-sided dynamics that drain your energy. Healing empowers you to prioritize your mental and emotional health, recognizing that your journey is unique and that some individuals may not travel with you along this path. Not everyone is meant to grow with you, and that’s okay. Those who are aligned with your healing will understand and support the version of you you are becoming, not just who you once were. This insight helps dispel feelings of being distant or cold, reframing such perceptions as a natural part of evolving self-awareness. The themes identified in the OCR content, such as "Not Everyone Can Come With You" and "Healing changes your relationships," emphasize that transformation often leads to shifts in social circles and emotional bonds. Embracing this change with compassion towards yourself and others creates space for more authentic and nourishing relationships. Ultimately, healing is an act of self-reclamation. It’s about expanding your emotional capacity, embracing growth, and fostering connections that truly resonate with your renewed self. By accepting that some friendships may no longer fit, you open doors to new, aligned relationships that contribute positively to your continued healing and personal development.
