Well, ATK (Attack) is pretty straightforward – it directly boosts your damage dealers' output. More ATK, more big numbers! But 'Effect RES' (Effect Resistance) is often overlooked, yet it's incredibly powerful. It determines how likely your character is to resist debuffs like Freeze, Imprisonment, or DoTs from enemies. Imagine your main DPS getting CC'd for two turns – that's a huge damage loss! Or what if a crucial healer gets debuffed and can't perform their role? That's where an 'Effect RES Boost' can literally save your run. So, how do we find this elusive 'perfect balance' for ATK and Effect RES? It really boils down to understanding your character's role and the specific Light Cone they're using. 1. Character Roles are Key: DPS (Damage Dealers): Characters like Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae or Kafka will naturally prioritize ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG on their Relics and Ornaments. For them, a huge amount of Effect RES might be overkill. However, a little bit can prevent frustrating CC. Supports/Debuffers: Characters like Pela or Silver Wolf might need Effect Hit Rate (not RES, but related to effects!) to land their debuffs consistently. For supports who need to stay active, some Effect RES can be a lifesaver. Think about how annoying it is when your Bronya gets imprisoned! Tanks/Preservation: Characters like Gepard or Fu Xuan often demand high HP, DEF, and yes, Effect RES. They are meant to soak hits and protect the team, so resisting debuffs ensures they can always deploy shields or mitigate damage. If you're building someone like 'Sunday' (as seen in some of my past notes!), you'd definitely look into their specific needs, or perhaps 'WeltYang' for his unique abilities. 2. Relics and Ornaments: Your Stat Playground: This is where most of our stat balancing happens! We're talking about items like 'Hero's Wreath of Champ', 'Lushaka's Twinlanes', or the 'anar Sphere' and 'nk Rope' from places like 'BananAmusement Park's Memetic Cables'. Main Stats: Always prioritize the correct Main Stat for your piece. A DPS will want ATK Percentage on their Body and Sphere, while a tank might want HP Percentage or DEF Percentage. For the Link Rope, Energy Regeneration Rate is often king for supports. Sub-Stats: This is where the magic happens! When farming or using the 'Synthesis' option, look for those juicy Sub-Stats.
