3 simple tips for food content!

Here are a few tips I would’ve loved to know when getting started with content👇🏾

1️⃣LIGHTING: Remember to always work in a well lit room, if possible work next to a large window to get the most natural light. If you are working in a room with little to no natural light I recommend using artificial light. Artificial light is also great for studio quality photos/videos. If you’d like it I have a section in my Amazon store showing all my favorite lighting products to use. (Link is in bio)

2️⃣MULTIPLE ANGLES: I use a “c-stand” to get multiple angles with ease (amazon store link in my bio) It’s important to grab your viewers attention as many times as possible during your videos. Changing the angle often gives your followers a new perspective every couple seconds or so keeping them engaged in the content.

3️⃣PHONE SETTINGS: If you are shooting with your iPhone make sure your settings are helping you out. I like to set mine to 4k & 60fps to make sure my videos are clear. This along with good lighting helps tremendously.

If you’d like more tips just let me know I’m happy to share💫

... Read moreI totally get how tricky it can be to make your delicious creations shine online! Beyond just nailing the technical stuff like lighting and angles (which are super important!), I've found that truly making your food content stand out comes down to a few more creative 'ingredients.' Think of it as adding your unique signature spice to every post. 1. Discovering Your Signature Style: What Makes YOU, YOU? It’s easy to get lost in a sea of beautiful food photos. To truly connect with your audience and build a loyal following, you need a recognizable 'signature.' This isn't just about the food itself, but how you present it. Visual Aesthetics: Do you love bright, airy shots, or moody, dramatic vibes? Experiment with different backdrops – a rustic wooden board, a crisp white tablecloth, or even a colorful patterned fabric. What kind of props speak to you? Vintage cutlery, a favorite mug, or fresh herbs? Consistency in these choices helps people instantly recognize your work. Your Unique Voice: This applies to both written captions and spoken narration. Are you enthusiastic and energetic, calm and instructional, or witty and humorous? Sharing the story behind your food adds depth and personality. It’s not just about the recipe; it’s about the experience. I personally love sharing little anecdotes about my cooking mishaps – it makes it more relatable! 2. Adding That Extra "Spice" for Engagement Once you have your signature style, how do you keep people hooked? It’s all about adding those little "spices" that make your content more dynamic and practical. Beyond the Final Dish: While a gorgeous finished product is a must, don't forget the journey! Show snippets of the cooking process – the sizzle of onions, the satisfying chop of vegetables, the gooey cheese pull. These sensory details make your content incredibly engaging. I’ve found that showing a quick 'behind-the-scenes' moment, even if it's just me taste-testing, really resonates. Practical Adjustments & Tips: Think about what problems your audience might face. Can you offer a clever substitution for an ingredient? A time-saving hack? A tip for avoiding a common cooking mistake? These practical adjustments add immense value. This is where "food content ideas" can really blossom into useful tutorials. Sound Matters (for videos): If you're creating video content, don't underestimate the power of sound. The gentle bubbling of a sauce, the crunch of a fresh salad, or even some well-chosen background music can elevate your content significantly. 3. Fresh Food Content Ideas to Keep Things Exciting Stuck for what to post next? Broaden your horizons beyond just new recipes. Ingredient Spotlights: Pick a single ingredient (e.g., avocados) and share multiple ways to use it. Kitchen Essentials & Reviews: Review your favorite kitchen tools, or share your top 5 pantry staples. Meal Prep Series: Walk your audience through your weekly meal prep, showing how to create healthy meals efficiently. Budget-Friendly Meals: Share how to create delicious meals without breaking the bank. "What I Eat in a Day": A classic for a reason, this offers a peek into your personal eating habits. Remember, the goal is to provide value while showcasing your unique perspective. By focusing on your signature style, adding those engaging "spices," and continuously exploring new food content ideas, you'll not only make your food content stand out but also build a thriving community around your passion!
