giiiirrrllllllll let’s talk brazilian waxes. so whether you have been thinking of getting waxed or have been getting waxed for some time, here are some tips on what you can do before your appointment to help your experience be as comfortable as possible <3

+ first things FIRST.. PLS PLS PLS do your research and find a space and provider that you feel comfortable going to! don’t let a bad wax scare you away!!

+ !STOP SHAVING! to get the best waxing results allow your hair to grow for about 2/3 weeks after your last shave. good rule of thumb is if you can pinch and hold the hair it’s perfect length!

+ DRINK. WATER. days leading up to your appointment it’s very important to stay hydrated to prevent hair breakage (what is breakage? it’s when the hair rips while waxing leaving hair that is too short behind to wax which = not smooth wax) we strive to have plump hydrated skin!!

+ exfoliate!! weeks leading up to your appointment physically exfoliating the area 2/3 times a week is highly recommended! my preferred method is a dry brush but a sugar scrub or exfoliating mitt is also great!! (ps stop exfoliating 2 days before your wax)

+ day of appointment it’s recommended if you can shower or bath before your appointment this helps your skin & hair to soften up to make the wax more comfortable for you! and also is very much appreciated by your waxer <3

+ LOOSE CLOTHING! let your skin breathe!!

+ it’s optional but advil or ibuprofen 30 min to an hour before your appointment will help with soreness after!

+ and as nerve wrecking as the first appointment can be please ask any questions you have or concern(s) to your provider! and no there’s no question too silly or dumb we are here to create a positive & comfortable experience!!

+ lastly BREATHE & RELAX it will be over before you know it and you’ll wonder why you didn’t start sooner.

Additionally, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 to 60 minutes before your appointment to minimize discomfort. Finally, remember to communicate any concerns to your waxing specialist—they're there to help you feel at ease. With these tips, you’ll embrace your waxing journey with confidence and leave with smooth, beautiful skin!
