Learning to Speak Kindly to the Woman …
Learning to Speak Kindly to the Woman in the Mirror
For years the loudest voice in my life
was the one inside my own mind.
The one saying
you should have known better…
you should be stronger…
you should already be healed.
But healing changes that voice.
Now I’m learning to speak to the woman in the mirror
the way I would speak to someone I love.
With patience.
With compassion.
With grace.
And slowly…
she is starting to believe it.
✨ Soulfully Healing
Throughout my own experience with self-healing, I've learned that the way we speak to ourselves profoundly impacts our emotional wellbeing. For years, I struggled with an inner critic that often whispered harsh judgments: you should be stronger, you should be healed by now. But healing is not linear, and changing that internal voice takes time. One of the most transformative practices I found was consciously choosing to speak kindly to the woman in the mirror. This isn’t just about positive affirmations — it’s about approaching myself with patience and compassion, like I would to a dear friend. When negative thoughts creep in, I pause and gently remind myself that healing is a journey filled with grace. Creating a safe mental space to rebuild trust in myself helped me gather the strength to believe not only in my progress but in my worthiness of love and care. I encourage anyone feeling overwhelmed by their self-talk to try this approach. It might feel unfamiliar at first, but slowly, as kindness replaces criticism, a richer, more nurturing inner dialogue can take root. Additionally, surrounding yourself with supportive communities focused on mental health awareness and self-care has been vital. Sharing stories with others offers encouragement and reminds us we are never truly alone in our struggles. Remember, speaking kindly to yourself is an act of soulfully healing — a daily practice that reaffirms your value and gently guides you toward peace and acceptance.
