Crab Roast in Mom’s style is a beloved dish that combines simple ingredients with bold flavors to create a meal that’s both comforting and exciting. I remember the first time I tried making this at home; the key to its delicious taste lies in how the spices and fresh ingredients meld together during the roasting process. One important tip is to ensure the crabs are properly cleaned and drained before cooking, as any excess water can affect the roasting and the overall flavor. When roasting the crabs initially, a medium flame works best to help the crabs release their natural juices, which later blend beautifully with the ginger-garlic paste and salt. The tomato puree adds a nice tang and helps coat each crab piece evenly, bringing a rich base to the dish. Personally, I like to add the fresh coriander and onion paste a little later, which adds a fresh, earthy aroma. The green chilli and mint paste gives the crab roast its signature spicy kick and freshness — it's important to cook it long enough so the raw smell of chillies disappears, but the heat and flavor remain vibrant. Adding oil towards the end and roasting the mixture on medium-high flame not only intensifies the flavors but also gives the crab a slight crispiness without drying it out. This Mom’s style Crab Roast pairs wonderfully with hot steamed rice, allowing the spiced crab masala to soak in and be savored with every bite. If you love seafood and enjoy robust flavors, this crab roast recipe will quickly become a staple in your kitchen. It’s perfect for family meals or special occasions when you want to impress with a home-cooked dish that tastes like it’s made with love and tradition.
