A doctor who was jailed for selling stolen PPE on eBay during the coronavirus lockdown is to be hauled before the medical watchdog.
Dr Attiya Sheikh, and her husband Omer Sheikh, made almost £8,000 from their crooked scheme between May and October 2020.
The couple, who flogged the PPE online after knowing it was stolen from the NHS, were exposed after NHS Scotland supplier Fannin spotted its products for sale on the auction website.
Detectives found that the couple had been selling the much-needed PPE online for £15 to £20 when "the world was in a heightened state of fear and anxiety" at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
The pair admitted selling stolen gloves, face masks and wipes online at a time when the NHS was struggling to get hold of them.
They were jailed for ten months at Paisley Sheriff Court in July last year.
Now, Dr Sheikh has been ordered to stand before the Medical Practitioners Tribunals Service (MPTS) next month. #nhs #Scotland #paisley #glasgow
