These are 3 of my favorite realistic and easily accessible wellness habits that are actually worth it…
1.) Walking as much as possible every day. When I was healing my hormones I stopped doing intense exercise and started doing low impact workouts paired with walking everywhere. I live in a very walkable city so it’s easy for me to hit 10k steps a day. Walking is the best form of exercise in my opinion. It’s low impact, easy on your body and extremely effective. Walking is therapeutic! Whenever I feel anxious or angry, energized or excited, tired or sad, I go on a walk. Walking regulates the nervous system, boosts cognitive function and helps to balance blood sugar. It’s also FREE and you can do it ~literally~ anywhere.
2.) Electrolytes first thing in the morning. This one has been a game changer for me. I have low blood pressure and forget to drink water throughout the day so front loading my morning with a giant glass of water infused with electrolytes is key to staying hydrated. Coconut water, a pinch of sea salt in some water or a clean electrolyte mixture works great (I use Ultima). Electrolytes help alleviate POTS symptoms and hydrate the body after a long period of no hydration (aka sleeping). Filtered water is depleted of minerals so it’s important to make sure to properly hydrating with electrolytes!
3.) Morning sunlight! Morning sunlight boosts cortisol in the AM which is actually a good thing! This is when your cortisol is supposed to be the highest and sends signals to the body to wake up in the most natural way possible. It provides a natural form of energy without the crash afterwards. Morning sunlight also helps us to sleep better at night by regulating our circadian rhythms. It makes sense that our bodies are supposed to receive sunlight first thing in the morning! It can be hard to get proper sunlight in the morning since I live in NYC, so I open my window and sit in the direct sunlight for a bit while I sip on my electrolytes ;)
I will share more wellness habits that are worth it next Wednesday so stay tuned.

In addition to walking, electrolyte intake, and morning sunlight, incorporating small but effective wellness habits can significantly enhance your overall health and daily vitality. For instance, mindful breathing exercises can complement walking by further regulating the nervous system. Practices like deep belly breathing or box breathing help reduce stress and anxiety, supporting mental clarity and emotional balance. When it comes to electrolytes, it’s important to choose sources that do not contain excessive sugars or artificial additives. Natural options like coconut water or mineral-rich sea salt added to water help replenish essential minerals lost during sleep or mild dehydration throughout the day. These minerals—including sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium—play crucial roles in maintaining nerve and muscle function, preventing symptoms like dizziness or fatigue associated with low blood pressure or POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Morning sunlight exposure not only boosts cortisol but also stimulates the production of vitamin D, which is essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation. If direct sunlight is limited due to urban living or seasonal changes, using a light therapy lamp designed to mimic natural sunlight can help maintain circadian rhythm alignment and improve sleep quality. Finally, pairing these habits with balanced nutrition focused on whole, unprocessed foods supports sustained energy and metabolic health. Foods rich in fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats contribute to stable blood sugar levels, complementing the benefits of daily walking and hydration. Together, these wellness routines foster a holistic approach to health that is sustainable, practical, and suitable for various lifestyles, providing therapeutic benefits to both mind and body.
