Hyundai Unveils Crater Concept 🤩🤩 Off-Road SUV Electric Intrusive Design But Repeats It's Really Driveable! ⚡⚡

Hyundai opened the veil, unveiling the latest electric off-road vehicle prototype, the first Crater Concept, at the LA Auto Show, with the concept of the car being placed as a compact-sized off-road SUV designed for full adventure and as a "freedom" reflection of the kind Hyundai would like to convey in the future.

The prototype was built by the team of the Hyundai America Technical Center at Irvine, California, and inspired by Hyundai's wading XRT models, whether IONIQ 5 XRT, Santa Cruz XRT, or Palisade XRT Pro, giving the Crater Concept a strong, aggressive, and ready-to-wade personality in any way.

The exterior design uses a new Hyundai theme called Art of Steel, which used to appear in the "THREE" prototype at the Munich Motor Show. The highlight is the use of strong lines, a metal that focuses more on the identity of the wading car. The design team clearly aims to "make this car really wade everywhere," so it is complemented by large underbelly skid plates, 33-inch off-road tires, twig-proof limb risers, rockers, and roof platforms to carry accessories.

The interior is designed to suit a group of tech adventurers. With a "Single Element" design, it uses a long dashboard across the console with eye-catching gimmicks like a full-windshield Head-up Display, allowing all data to float up in front of it instead of the usual infotainment screen, and also uses a Live Rearview rear camera, increasing security.

Technical for the Hyundai wading line, the Off-Road Controller is equipped with front-rear difflock command with sand, snow and Mud Terrain modes, as well as a complete set of basic off-road features such as Downhill Brake Control, Trailer Brake Control, Compass and Altimeter.

Despite Hyundai confirming that this car is an electric power car, it does not disclose drivetrain information on whether it will be a pure electric battery (BEV) or a hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV). However, the car itself is equipped with HTWO lights, which are a unique signature of Hyundai's FCEV car, as in the newer Nexo, leading many parties to expect that it may be the next generation of hydrogen prototypes.

A few days earlier, Hyundai's design team in North America also unveiled a new design studio called "The Sandbox," which will be the creative, conceptual and design center of the XRT family of cars and future off-road equipment.

The Hyundai Crater Concept is therefore not just a prototype car to show, but symbolizes Hyundai's new direction to build an electric off-road SUV. That wades real and looks good. 🤩🤩
