Are you doing these habits on repeat?

Let me explain WHY those habits are not supportive of healthy hormone balance👇🏼

1. Cooking with water instead of healthy fats

"to save calories".

Fats are essential for the building of cell membranes, they help the body absorb vitamins A, D, E & K, they are essential for healthy hormone function and production. Fats also protect organs, are necessary for energy and help promote feelings of fullness/satiety!

Plus, cooking with fats makes food taste amazinggggg.

A fatty acid deficiency can lead to many hormonal issues (and skin issues as well) and fatty acids are an important part of managing inflammation in the body. Quality of fats matters too!

2. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach in the morning and/or relying on it to "get you through the day".

Where to begin here! Personally, I used to wake up to a blaring alarm clock, jump out of bed, chug coffee and rush into work or my tasks of the day.

This was only harming my hormones MORE by skyrocketing my cortisol (the stress hormone) in the morning which was stressing my body & setting it up for adrenal issues. Not to mention it also was causing my body to rely on caffeine without ever being truly

"stabilized" with natural energy.

Coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach was one way that stress was able to "run the show" in my life and my entire days started off in "fight or flight" causing issues with my blood sugar, digestion, gut, hormones, etc.

If I am having coffee in the morning now, I make it "hormone balanced" & drink it after I've ate majority of my breakfast.

3. Always prioritizing workouts over adequate rest, sleep & recovery.

Personally, I used to be so laser focused "on getting in my workouts" that I would cut back on sleep and rest to get my workouts in. This only taxed my body more because my body was not recovering.

Did you know that our body gets to work while we sleep to restore and repair itself? So, if we're not sleeping consistently 7ish-9 hours a night our bodies cannot do what it needs to do to restore itself.

Without enough sleep and rest, and with forcing intense workouts... the body becomes SO STRESSED that instead of seeing progress in the gym... other issues may occur… for me; I become bloated, inflamed and exhausted all the time (when you're body is under chronic stress systems of the body will start to break down aka this why I started having so many gut/ Gl issues!)

Now, I work with my body and exercise by doing workouts that are supportive of my body and I never neglect sleep for a workout. I'll miss a workout if it means that my body needs rest and sleep.

4. Drinking a gallon of water a day (without added electrolytes or proper mineral balance).

Drinking tons of water without electrolytes or proper mineral balance means that the body will just pee out the extra water not utilize it. More water doesn't necessarily always mean MORE HYDRATION. Adding electrolytes or minerals to water ensures that the water is getting into your cells and supports proper hydration for the body. No more are the days l'm chugging a gallon of water. I drink plenty of filtered water but with proper electrolytes and minerals!

Was this helpful my ladies?!? 💕

... Read moreMaintaining hormonal balance is crucial for overall health and well-being. Hormones regulate everything from mood to metabolism and reproductive functions. One common mistake is using water for cooking instead of healthy fats, which play a vital role in hormone production. Foods rich in healthy fats, like avocados, nuts, and olive oil help the body absorb essential vitamins and can significantly aid in hormone regulation. Another habit to address is drinking coffee on an empty stomach, which can elevate stress hormone levels and cause blood sugar fluctuations. Instead, consider consuming a balanced breakfast first, ensuring your body has the nutrients it needs for stable energy throughout the day. Moreover, prioritizing workouts at the expense of sleep can lead to chronic stress and hinder recovery. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep to allow your body the chance to heal and recharge. Finally, while staying hydrated is essential, excessive water intake without electrolytes can lead to imbalance as your body may simply expel the excess water. Instead, consider adding a pinch of salt or electrolyte supplements to your hydration routine to improve absorption. By adjusting these habits thoughtfully, you can support your hormonal health effectively.
