Habits that keep my life balanced ✨

Here are some habits that have kept my life balanced + wholesome and healthy at the same time 🫶🏻

- getting daily sunlight, fresh air and drinking enough water daily (these are key to feeling good every single day… and when it’s overcast, I still get outside because you still can get vitamin D from overcast weather + getting out nature is so healing to the body!!)

- cook most meals at home & make healthier food swaps when possible (I cook the majority of my meals at home, and I have grown to love cooking and being in the kitchen! However, I do not stress about every single little thing I put into my mouth. Sometimes you can’t control the situation and don’t have access to clean, healthier food options. I do the best that I can and don’t stress over it when I can’t control it… however I do always travel with healthy snacks in my purse lol)

— limit overworking!! have healthy boundaries with work & life (it’s so important to have a healthy work life, balance, or else this can lead to burn out… which does not support a balance lifestyle. Make boundaries with yourself and work and learn to say no… I cannot stress this one enough).

— listen to what my body needs (i’ve gained a lot of self-awareness about myself and my body over the last decade of working in the health and wellness industry…. I’m now at the point where I listen to my body and give it what she needs instead of neglecting what she needs. An example of this is - if I’m feeling really exhausted one day and low on energy I WILL NOT force a workout. I will rest that day. But, in the past. I would’ve always forced a workout no matter how exhausted I was, but I learned that doesn’t support a balanced lifestyle)

— make time for play & fun!!!! (Making intentional time for play and fun is so important! it’s so important to connect back to our childlike wonder and be able to laugh, play dance and enjoy life without overthinking everything all the time)!

— don’t restrict myself! (I truly live by nourishing my body from the inside out and because I nourish my body every day, I never feel restricted. If I want a sweet treat or ice cream for example, I’ll let myself have it! it’s so important to nourish the body instead of depriving the body. If you focus on nutrient dense, whole foods and not under eating… it will feel so much better for your body from the inside out and you’ll be able to enjoy treats and dessert without feeling guilty!!)

Scheduling intentional time for leisure activities allows you to reconnect with joy and creativity, proving that life should also be fun. Lastly, nourishing your body is vital; rather than viewing food in terms of restriction, focus on incorporating nutrient-dense, whole foods into your diet. This approach promotes a healthier relationship with food and ensures you enjoy treats without guilt. By integrating these habits into daily life, balance and well-being can surely be achieved.
