Shadowbanned but starting fresh

I've come to terms with the fact that i'll probably never get my original Lemon8 account to be normal again, and TikTok/Lemon8 will never be helpful in this sense. So i've decided to create a brand new account to start fresh. Because you can't kill the stubborness in me.
TLDR, when Lemon8 was acquired by TikTok in 2024, they made it a requirement to link both accounts with each other. I created my TikTok account in Malaysia, and my Lemon8 account in Singapore, all was fine until they linked my accounts. Tiktok still worked fine, but i realised my Lemon8's interface started to look funny. Everything was in Bahasa Melayu, and the content being pushed to me was all Malaysia based. I couldn't find content from Singapore (which is where I currently live), and my friends in SG couldn't search up my account either. My views and engagement tanked. I suspect all of the content I posted would only appear on Malaysia user's feeds (which wasn't relevant to them at all cause my content is all Singaore based). I wrote to Lemon8 and Tikok for help, but they basically said they couldn't do anything and closed the case.
For the longest time, I felt so heartbroken and unmotivated to post anything. I even convinced myself to give up on this platform, but i just couldn't. I really enjoyed writing and reviewing, but i hated not seeing any results for it. I felt bad for the brands (in SG) that reached out for collabs because it didn't feel fair to them that posts weren't doing well. So here I am, starting fresh.
🤔 So What's My Plan?
I'm considering letting my first account Wendyxoxo fade into oblivion, but it feels like such a shame. I'll try to cater it to more to generic content or anything cool stuff i find in Malaysia when I'm travelling home.
For this account will I'll go back to writing my #wendyxreviews and we'll see how things go from there.

It may feel like losing your original presence, but sometimes starting fresh allows for better alignment with platform algorithms and audience interests. Also, when rebooting your account, engage actively with topics popular in your target region and include relevant hashtags and content categories to increase discoverability. Sharing genuine reviews and experiences—as I plan with my #wendyxreviews—can help cultivate an authentic audience who values your insights. Lastly, be mindful of language settings and regional content recommendations. Adjust your profile and posting habits to fit the cultural context of your primary audience. Staying responsive and flexible will help you overcome initial algorithmic hurdles and regain momentum on platforms like Lemon8 and TikTok.
