It's truly humbling to see my writing journey unfold, especially with this feature in 'VOICE OF TRUTH' magazine. When I reflect on what it means to be a modern Christian author, it's so much more than just putting words on a page. It's about being a vessel, allowing God's message to flow through you, even when the path isn't clear. Like many creatives, I've definitely faced the dreaded 'author's fog' – those moments where inspiration feels miles away. But it's in those challenging times that I've learned to lean even harder on my faith, trusting that if there's a story to be told, God will provide the words. It's all for the glory of God, truly. Being featured as Da'Quanya Hanson in a Christian publication like 'VOICE OF TRUTH' has been an incredible validation, and it pushes me to embrace this calling even more. I remember seeing the magazine spread, with my biography on one page and photos of me with the magazine, prominently featuring that powerful lion on the cover. It was such a surreal moment. For anyone out there feeling called to write, especially within the Christian sphere, I want to share a few things I've learned. Firstly, don't despise small beginnings. Every word, every poem, every reflection contributes to your growth. Secondly, cultivate a deep spiritual life. Your writing will always be a reflection of your walk with Christ. That's where the true inspiration comes from, the well that never runs dry. Overcoming the 'author's fog' often involves stepping away, spending time in prayer, reading scripture, or simply resting. Sometimes, the best writing comes after a period of stillness. And when it comes to finding opportunities, just keep creating. Share your work, even if it's just with a trusted friend or on platforms like Lemon8. You never know who might connect with your message. My journey to being recognized as a modern Christian author has been filled with both struggles and triumphs, but through it all, the guiding principle has been to use my gifts to uplift and inspire for His kingdom. Seeing my name, Da'Quanya Hanson, in print, holding that 'VOICE OF TRUTH' magazine with its symbolic lion, just reaffirms that when we commit our work to God, He truly opens doors we never imagined.
