Ipoh, Malaysia: Step Back in Time 🕰️
Old Town Ipoh is full of character, where you feel enticed to slow down and notice the details!
At first glance, Old Town is a collection of weathered stone colonial-era buildings, but they come to life not only through the shops and kopitiams (traditional cafés) that fill them ☕️
You’ll find tucked into alleyways throughout Old Town, vibrant murals tell stories of Ipoh’s people and daily life, adding a playful layer to the city’s heritage🖼️
Old Town Ipoh dates back to the late 1800s, when a booming tin-mining industry turned the city into one of the wealthiest towns in colonial Malaya (the peninsula that would later become modern-day Malaysia).
It’s a cultural gem worth a stop, especially for the amazing temples, natural wonders, and most popular food street, which I’ll share more on next!
