My Testimony Against Religion

I've observed that religious institutions, while meant to guide, can sometimes impose barriers that distract from genuine faith. For instance, attributing salvation or spiritual identity to membership in a religion can inadvertently place those institutions above the core tenets of faith itself. A key insight that has sustained me is Jesus’ statement: "I am the truth and the life, and no one can go to the Father except through me." This highlights that faith should be centered on Jesus alone, rather than external symbols, titles, or intermediaries. In my experience, this has led me to view faith as a direct, living connection—something that religion, with its structures and traditions, cannot fully encapsulate. I have also wrestled with the idea of the "Religious Spirit," which can create a sense of spiritual dryness or legalism. I found that embracing faith beyond religion led to a vibrant and alive spiritual walk. It freed me from conforming to religious expectations and empowered me to seek truth through prayer, scripture, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
