Shower Caddy

When I first moved into my dorm, I quickly realized that my shower caddy was going to be my daily companion – for better or worse! If you have a lot of smaller toiletries and want maximum separation, the plastic with sections is great. If quick drying and lighter weight are priorities, the mesh is excellent. Once you have your caddy, it’s all about smart packing. I learned to group similar items together. All my hair care products went in one section, my dental brushes and paste in another, and so on. This saves so much time fumbling around when you're half-asleep in the morning! A top tip: consider decanting larger bottles into travel-sized ones to save space and weight – your arm will thank you, especially if you have to walk down a hall. I also found small S-hooks incredibly useful for hanging my loofah or a small hand towel off the side of the caddy, keeping it off the wet floor and allowing it to dry properly. What to put in it? Beyond the obvious shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, don't forget good quality face wash and moisturizer. A toothbrush holder, even a small silicone one, is a must to keep your brushes hygienic. For shaving, a small shaving cream and razor are crucial. And sometimes, you might want to tuck in an extra hair tie, a small comb, or even a mini body lotion for immediate post-shower hydration. Make sure any towels you plan to carry in the caddy are compact enough, or have a separate bag for them if they're bulkier. Finally, maintaining your organized caddy is crucial. I used to give mine a quick rinse and wipe down daily, and a deeper clean once a week to prevent any buildup or smells. Especially with the mesh caddy, letting it air dry completely between uses helps immensely in preventing mildew. This little routine made my shared bathroom experience so much more pleasant and helped prolong the life of my caddy. An organized shower caddy truly makes dorm life less stressful.
