Guang Zhou with 11 month old🐮🐣

I have been wanting to travel with bb for a while🥲

I asked my husband a couple times when bb was younger but due to his work schedule, he couldn’t. I told him I wouldn’t mind travelling alone with bb. Naturally, he was concerned and suggested I asked my mom to accompany me instead. My mother wasn’t free to travel either.

One fine October evening, my husband asked if we would accompany him to GuangZhou for work. If it isn’t obvious enough, I said yes.

We went for a 6 days 5 nights trip in January.

We didn’t bring a stroller so I baby wore her the whole trip. She napped in the baby carrier when we were out and I took her out for every meal and dessert/coffee/milk tea pitstops. I also latched her while she was in the carrier when we were out.

It was pretty warm the whole time we were there. I believe the temperature would be lower at night but our days ended early.

She was on 3 meals a day so I brought her Gerber oats for breakfast and prepared enough instant porridges for her lunch and dinners. I also packed basic medication and a thermometer just in case. One item I packed and didn’t expect to use would be prune juice sachets. Thank goodness I brought it as bb was constipated, fed her half a sachet for a few mornings when we were there and it went back to normal very soon.

I was still pumping twice a day (on top of direct latching), so I brought my portable pumps. I read that I don’t need to sterilise things anymore but I used sterilisation tablets from pigeon to sterilise them every night, for my peace of mind. This is just so I can pump and use my milk for her Gerber oats in the morning. My baby primarily latches so I didn’t need to prepare bottles when we went out. I did bring empty bottles, just in case.

Honestly, we did not really explore much of guangzhou and primarily went to malls. Nonetheless, it was a good trip with a nice change of scenery for me. 🥹

... Read moreIf you're planning to explore Guangzhou with your little one, especially areas like the Liwan district known for its baby products market, it's helpful to know what to expect. The baby products market in Liwan offers a wide variety of essentials whether you're looking for baby clothes, toys, or baby care items, often at reasonable prices. When traveling with a baby in Guangzhou, consider packing lightweight babywearing options for mobility, as strollers can be cumbersome in crowded markets. The weather can be warm, so light clothing and sun protection are essential. Many parents appreciate visiting the baby products markets to discover local brands and affordable items that might not be available at home. From my experience, bringing along staple food options and basic medical supplies made a big difference in keeping my baby comfortable throughout the trip. Also, be prepared for casual strolls through shopping malls or markets rather than intensive sightseeing when traveling with young infants. This helps avoid overstimulation and keeps your little one rested. In summary, combining practical preparation with the joy of discovering local baby products markets in places like Liwan can make your travel with an infant both enjoyable and rewarding.
